Minibus Fund

In 2014 PALS was thrilled to be able to buy its own minibus, thanks to generous loans from members and friends.  We managed to finish repaying those loans at the end of 2018.

In August this year our bus was hit from behind by a taxi and due to the severity of the damage and the age of the bus, the insurance company decided it would be uneconomic to repair and wrote it off.  Although they gave us the write-off value, this is nothing like the sum needed to buy a replacement bus which will cost something like £25,000.  At the end of the last financial year PALS created a designated fund of money to buy a bus in the future, which we hoped we would add to over the next few years.  However, the future has arrived sooner than expected and we desperately need help raising the necessary funds to replace this vital part of our service.

PALS has around 150 members, many of whom rely on the minibus to access the aqua aerobics sessions at St Audries.  There is no public transport and many of our members no longer drive or don't have access to a car so the bus is vital.  There isn't another pool close by and without PALS our members, many of whom are elderly, unwell or vulnerable, would lose their access to physical and social activity.

Can you help us raise some much-needed funds?  We need to raise about £7,000 to make up the shortfall.  We have set up a "Go Fund Me" page - please follow the link and donate if you can.
