Penguin Skiis

These skiis appear to have been factory modified / updated from what is shown in the brochures. What appears in the brochures is the "boot" portion of the ski only. These have two brass runners on the "boot", which is made of fibreglass. The "boot" has been bolted to a longer, slightly wider wooden ski, I assume to give more floatation in snow. The wooden ski has a single steel runner. The two boards / skiis shown are slightly different in outline and bend and are both factory items as far as I can tell. To use them you simply lift the front of the machine and slide the ski under the front wheel and push the tire into the boot. To remove them if you step on the boot and pull the tire up it will slide out of the boot.

I don't know if these were available for Beavers, I have not seen them pictured with them. I have seen Beavers with tire chains on the rear wheels.
