Depression and ADHD in Adolescents: A Parent's Guide to Understanding and Support — Tuesday, November 12, 7:00-8:30 pm via Zoom
Why do teens dealing with ADHD often have depression as well? Why is it hard for the adults in their lives to tell the symptoms of one from the other? What can be done to treat them both? These are some of the questions we aim to answer in our upcoming webinar. Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, or other caring adult, this webinar will equip you with practical skills and knowledge to better support adolescents navigating these challenges.
Register to join us for a live webinar discussion or watch on demand after it airs.
If you are new to the topic of teen depression or in need of a refresher, please watch our Understanding Teen Depression as a foundation to this upcoming webinar.
Navigating the Bumps of Early Childhood and Elementary School - Wednesday, November 13, 6:30-9 pm at Tenacre Country Day School
The most challenging part of getting help for your baby, toddler, or school-age child is understanding the who, what, when, where, and how. These systems can be overwhelming and confusing! Joanne Sweeney, Director of Riverside Early Intervention, and Lucy Verhave, Special Education Advocate and Consultant at Verhave Education, will pave the way, shedding light on free support and available services, navigating the system, and tackling questions on development, education, and growth.
Meghan Schelzi, a literacy specialist at Next Step Education, Amy Martin, M.A., a play therapist and parent coach, and Wellesley Special Education Parent Advocacy Council (SEPAC) will also be available during the social hour to answer any questions about finding the right accommodations and services for your family.
Social time begins at 6:30 and the program will begin at 7:30. We welcome spouses, caretakers and guests to attend.
Space is limited. Register here. If you are not a WMF member and are interested in attending, please contact program@wellesleymothersforum.com to register.
Cost is free for members of the Wellesley Mothers Forum (WMF) and $15 for non-members.
