Timeline / History
1993 - Established “Acro-Tots” Mobile Gymnastics – 200 Students in 12 locations.
1994 - Opened First Gym: “Columbia Gymnastics Academy”, Fernandina Rd. Irmo, SC. 500 Students enrolled in Gymnastics, Tumbling, and After-School Care
2001 - Moved CGA to current location in Lexington
2003 - Expanded from 10,000 to 15,000 Square Feet - Added High School Cheerleading Squad Training
2005 - Changed Name to Palmetto Athletic Center in order to establish ourselves as a multi-faceted children’s activity center: Formed Partnership with “The Swim Lessons Company” and built outdoor pool
2006 - Added Kids Haven Childcare & Entertainment
2008 - Added Twisters All-Star Cheerleading Program
2009 - Kids Haven - After School Care grew to over 100 students
2013 - Expanded from 15,000 square feet to 22,000 square feet. This allowed us to have 6,000 square feet of open gym space dedicated to our After School Care program.
2014 - Kids Haven - After School Care grew to over 200 students. Also added "Music Makers" partner program.
2016 - Established dedicated Preschool gymnastics and Parent-tot gymnastics room separate from the main gym; "The Swim Lessons Company" gave PAC rights to run PAC Swim Program
Fall 2017- Erica Conklin was hired as the Kids Haven After School Care Director
2018 - Added "Ninja" Program
2019 - Kids Haven After School and Summer Program doubled in size allowing us to purchase 3 acres of land for future development
2020- Lexington Schools closed their doors due to a pandemic. Kids Haven remained open supporting health care employees and essential workers with childcare. PAC became an e-learning facility assisting students on the see saw app and with zoom calls. The PAC recreational sports program was placed on hold.
2021- PAC reopened its recreational sports programs and the Kids Haven Summer Program reached over 350 registered students as parents looked for fun ways to keep their kids active during the pandemic.
2022- Brad and Erica Conklin purchased PAC from Steve and Melody Macklen.
Fall 2022- Post Covid many parents work remote the PAC Office was transformed into a Lobby for parents to work while kids play!
Spring 2023- PAC opened the option for Pool Birthday Parties after enhancing the pool seating area with a pergola.
Fall 2023- Kelly Klapcuniak is hired as the PAC Sports Program Manager and can be reached at sports.pacsc@gmail.com
Winter 2023- Josiah Hodge is hired as the PAC Kids Program Manager and can be reached at kidshaven.pac@gmail.com
