Cub Scouting is open to all youth in kindergarten through fifth grade (5 to 10 years old). We hold monthly Pack meetings at River Road Presbyterian Church typically on a Thursday from 6-7pm. Groups of same-age Scouts also meet in Dens- small groups of up to 12 youth of the same grade. During den meetings, parent volunteers who serve as den leaders lead the group in building projects and playing games that reinforce the Scout Oath and Law.
Cub Scout Families can participate in Outdoor Activities throughout the year, from daytime nature hikes to overnight weekend campouts. Outdoor experiences are at the heart of the Scouting program. All of our campouts are Family Campouts, where the entire family, including younger and older siblings, can participate.
The best way to find out what you do best is to do it. Catch a fish. Ride a bike. Set up a tent. Build a Pinewood Derby® car. Shoot a bow and arrow. Cub Scouting offers boys and girls the opportunity to see and learn fun, new things that can’t be found anywhere else.
Cub Scouts are at that magical age where everything is new and possible and, most important, fun. They build things. Play with purpose. Make friends and work together. The life lessons learned here not only transform today’s Cub Scouts into tomorrow’s Scouts BSA members but also help form a foundation to embrace opportunity and overcome obstacles in life.
