Information on Pack 301

When is a good time to get started?

Pack 301 is year-round.  You can become a scout at anytime, though most of our new scouts start in the fall just after school begins. Just contact our Committee Chair or the Den Leader in your age group.  

When do we meet?

Pack Meetings (when all our scout dens, K-5th grade, get together in the same place - with the Cubmaster) are normally held on the third Thursday of each month with a few variations for special events.

Den Meetings (when just one age group meets - with the Den Leader) are generally held twice a month and vary by den.

What is the Cost of Joining?

"Early Bird" Registration Fee for 2025-2026 is $275, if paid by 09/30/25.

Our major expense is Rechartering.  This covers our dues to National for program development, general insurance, online trainings, and online resources for our pack, and  Council dues which cover insurance costs and maintenance at our Council's campsites, professional staff at our Council, trainings for volunteers, fees to put on support programs for our pack and many more behind the scenes items. We also provide T-Shirts and Pinewood Derby kits to every scout. These costs have gone up significantly over the last few years.  

With the Santa Cruz fires our Council is in more need of support than ever.  Insurance coverage went through the roof with previous fires and now two of our beloved Council camps, Cutter and Boulder Creek, have been ravaged by the 2020 fires.  Our Pack is committed to supporting our Council in these dire times.  If you have the ability to donate directly to our Council please look for more information under Friends of Scouting.

If for any reason your scouting family cannot pay the full fees please reach out to our Treasurer or Committee Chair to discuss options.  There are various options in our pack and at the Council level.  Please do not let dues keep you from joining scouts, one of our main pillars is Do a Good Turn Daily and another is be Helpful; we work to uphold these.
