I am a Professor and Huffington Chair in Finance at Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business. I currently serve as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis. I was also an Associate Editor for the Review of Financial Studies in 2021-2024.

My research lies at the juncture of finance and industrial organization, with a particular focus on institutional investors, market frictions, and their mutual roles in determining asset prices as well as corporate behaviors.
I received my Ph.D. in Finance from Indiana University (Bloomington) in 2009, and was a faculty member at UNC Chapel Hill until 2016. I hold an MBA from Duke University and a CFA charter. Before starting my doctoral coursework, I was a portfolio and risk manager at the Bank of Thailand.
