Lecturer: Prof. Jeong-Young JI (Utah State Univ.)
Place: Science Bldg#3 Classroom 115 (공학3동 115호)
Background: Fluid equations such as Navier-Stokes or MHD equations are usually blemished by ad-hoc terms that are necessary to work around the fundamental difficulty in closing the underlying kinetic equations in finite steps. Dr. Ji will review his groundbreaking work for the fluid closure, which will be a crucial framework for self-consistent fluid simulation codes by eliminating ad-hoc terms as well as for understanding the kinetic effects from the fluid point of view.
