Family Genealogies

This page contains links to the main family lines that I have traced so far.

Families from which I am descended:

The Dent family are descended from William Owen Kitchener Dent (WOK Dent). I have yet to establish a definite lineage for him in the UK. The link to the Kitchener family precedes the birth of Lord Kitchener by at least two generations. WOK Dent was a contemporary of Lord Kitchener's father, but they are not closely related. It is possible that his second middle name was actually Kitchen/Kitchin, and the spelling was changed until his death.

The Buck, Burgar and Foulis families originate from the County of Norfolk and the Orkney Islands. The Burgar and Foulis families are also connected to the Orkney families of Rendall, Reid, Setter, Dreaver, Thompson, Miller, Bremner, Hughison, Leslie. They are possibly also connected to the Sutherland family of southern Orkney, and the Swan or Swannay family.

Originating from Sussex, Cornwell, Devon and Ireland. The Pomeroy family are a Norman family, and were the original owners of Berry Pomeroy Castle (External Link) near Totnes in Devon. This was sold to the Seymour family in the 16th Century. I have, as yet to trace the lineage of Catherine Ann Pomeroy. The Siviour family entered South Australia as the Sivier or Sevier family from Sussex in England.

So far traced only within Victoria, Australia. William Fleming has contributed to the Bloomfield and Daly data. The Daly name originates in Ireland.

The compilation of the above family trees is my own work. On the whole I have not verified the results with original documents but will endeavour to do so over time.

Other Families from which members of our family are descended include:

Gorman, Haimes, Stafford

These families originate from Ireland, Lancashire, Staffordshire

Tyacke, Cholmeley

This research is the work of another family member. I have only included the first two generations for the time being. The Tyacke family are from Cornwell and their line includes the Phelps family of Dorset. Catherine Beryl Maynard Cholmeley is descended from the Cholmeleys of Bletchingly, of Easton and of Cholmeley.

Note that the research of these four families is the work of another family member, and I have therefore only included the first two generations for the time being.

Finally, an external link to the ancestors of Norman Richard Jubilee Clark:

This is a link to Ian Glendinning's website which traces much of this line. The Scotts are a Dumfries and Galloway and Borders family, as are the Beatties.
