     Peters  Hill

Peters Hill and the surrounding fields have borne witness to more than three centuries of American history. The commanding hill offers a clear view of the city and the chance to escape into a sylvan reverie. For some the retreat becomes a permanent residency. Here death achieves a status denied to it in the thickly settled parts of the city. The loss of life in so verdant a space lends itself to legend.
