In response to the call of Jesus Christ, Egypt Christian Church exists to bring people to Jesus Christ and membership in His church, to develop them into mature Christians, and to equip them for their ministry in the church and their mission in the world, in order to glorify the name of God.
Egypt Christian Church was organized in 1876 when several members of the Mount Pleasant Christian Church who lived in the Egypt community felt a need to establish a church in their own community. Soon thereafter a building was built which would house the congregation for the next 129 years.
During more than a century of service to Christ and the community, numerous additions and improvements were made to the original sanctuary. A decision was made in 2005 to construct a new sanctuary and the final worship service in the original building was on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2005. The first service in the new house of worship was on Sunday, October 23, 2005.
The church is actively involved in brotherhood agencies as well as many programs to benefit the people of the area.
The Egypt Christian Church is a place where the Bible is taught and preached. It is a place where your family will feel at home with classes, worship and activities for all ages.
We are a loving, caring and sharing church.
Our worship is joyful! Ours is not a dry intellectual approach to God. We rejoice in the Lord! We praise, pray, love and serve from the heart.
We are a free church with no headquarters over us to determine our policies and our programs.
We are a growing church. We want to grow numerically as more people are won to Christ and we want to grow spiritually so that we may achieve all Christ wants of us.
We are not only Christians, but Christians only. We desire to speak where the Bible speaks and be silent where the Bible is silent. We have no book but the Bible, no creed but Christ and no law but love!
