In order to harmonize the regular program with emerging topics of particular interest, the ISIVC-2018 conference will include a Special Session entitled “Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks”.
Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks (WMSNs) researches are gaining significant importance due to the development of IoT and Smart Cities market. This kind of networks presents some limitations and requirements as compared to traditional networks. Since it is composed from lightwise nodes with limited computational and energetic capabilities. Each Multimedia sensor node contributes to the environment monitoring by sending wirelessly the gathered data the remote user. However, due to the power limitation, others nodes are required to accomplish the transmission of one node by relaying the transmitted data. Unfortunately, most of the important metrics for sensing values are very sensitive to delay or latency. In the literature, some algorithms and techniques were proposed to perform data communications in WMSNs. Those algorithms and techniques aim to ensure data gathering while dealing with the network nodes constraints and the data transmission QoS.
This special Session applies for the submission of high-quality and unpublished papers that aim to solve open research problems and challenges of communication in WMSNs.
Topics of this Special Session include the following items:
WMSNs architecture and Design
Protocols and algorithms for multimedia data transmissions
Topology control for real-time communication in WMSNs
Performance evaluation of real-time communication in WMSNs
QoS and QoE in WMSNs
