Short Bio

I was born on October 15, 1980 in Civitanova Marche (MC) (a little town near Macerata and Ancona in Marche region) in Italy.

I graduated in Economics and Banking at the University of Macerata in 2004 with final mark of 110/110 cum laude with a thesis on the determinants of top-executive turnover in Italian listed firms (supervisor: Prof. Daniela Venanzi).

I won the Economics Undergraduate Theses Award "Angelo Costa" in 2005, assigned by Rivista di Politica Economica to undergraduate students for the best theses in economics.

I took my PhD degree in Corporate Finance at the University of Trieste in 2008 with a thesis on the performance of Italian family firms (supervisors: Prof. Paolo Jaccod and Prof. Daniela Venanzi).

During the PhD I spent one year as teaching and research assistant at the University of Siena under the supervision of my PhD tutor, Prof. Paolo Jaccod.

After the PhD I spent a four-month research period as post-doctoral student at the Cass Business School (City University London) under the supervision of Prof. Meziane Lasfer.

During the period 2006-2008, I was research fellow in Corporate Finance at the University of Rome "Roma Tre" for the research project "financial architecture, performance and risk of Italian firms" under the supervision of Prof. Daniela Venanzi.

From December 2008 to February 2018, I held the position of Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Rome "Roma Tre".

I was visiting professor at Sup de Co Montpellier Business School in 2013.
