The Ottawa Junior Jazz Band and the Nepean All-City Jazz Band are playing their seasonal concert in December. This will be there first concert of the year featuring some fine young musicians.

The band will be performing at the Capital Region Music Festival (Ottawa), which is a Musicfest Canada Nationals sanctioned regional.

JAZZ FEST DES JEUNES
SATURDAY, MARCH 31ST, 2018.

The band will be travelling to St.Hubert Quebec to play in the Jazz Fest Des Jeunes. The festival is a Musicfest Canada Nationals sanctioned regional.

The Ottawa Junior Jazz Band (OJJB) is an 18 piece big band consisting of grade 7, 8, 9 and 10 students from the Ottawa Region. For 16 years, OJJB has set out to provide a platform for students to further expand upon their musical experiences from middle school, and promote an interest in big band music.   OJJB has been awarded 15 consecutive Gold Standards at the Capital Region Music Festival and was awarded the Gold Standard at Musicfest Canada Nationals in 2006, 2009, and 2010. OJJB has been featured at the Ottawa International Jazz Festival from 2002-2017 and has also performed at the prestigious University of North Texas Jazz Festival in 2009. The band has had the pleasure of performing on stage with jazz artists Mark Ferguson, Ron Di Lauro, and Mike Tremblay. Anyone who aspires to be the next member of OJJB is required to audition for entry into the band, which is held yearly in the month of June.
