About Us

The Ottawa Carleton Choristers is a choir of approximately 60 active and retired teachers and staff from the Ottawa Carleton District School Board. Our doors are also open to singers from the community and to friends and neighbours. The choir has been active for almost 30 years, under the leadership of Laurie Hamilton who leads several choirs in our community including choirs at Carleton University.

Maureen Hutchinson, our talented accompanist has been with the choir for approximately 20 years.

We present two major concerts a year, often inviting young rising stars in our community to join us. We regularly entertain in retirement homes throughout the year and love the interaction and joy we can bring to seniors.

Rehearsals are held on Thursdays from 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. at the Ottawa Carleton District School Board, 133 Greenbank Road. We meet from September to June, and our first rehearsal for the upcoming season will be on Thursday, September 13, 2018.

We sing a wide variety of music. There are many resources available to assist members in learning the music.

We are actively looking to recruit new members and in particular are interested in adding more male voices to our choir! We ask those who would like to give us a try to come out and sing with us for a few rehearsals, and then if you feel we are a good fit, we will ask you to complete a short audition from the current repertoire (the repertoire that we practiced with you during the two previous rehearsals).
