dal 1.11.1995 al 31.10.1999 è stato professore di II fascia in regime di tempo pieno nel raggruppamento I050 presso la Facoltà di Ingegneria della Seconda Università degli Studi di Napoli;
dal 1.11.1999 al 31.10.2002 è stato professore straordinario in regime di tempo pieno nel raggruppamento ING-IND/10 (ex I05A) presso la Facoltà di Ingegneria della Seconda Università degli Studi di Napoli;
dal 1.11.2002 è professore ordinario in regime di tempo pieno nel raggruppamento ING-IND/10 (ex I05A) presso il Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell'Università degli Studi della Campania "Luigi Vanvitelli" già Seconda Università degli Studi di Napoli;
ha prestato servizio dal febbraio 1984 al dicembre 1984 presso l'Istituto di Fisica Tecnica dell'Università degli Studi di Napoli; dal gennaio 1985 al dicembre 1988 presso il Dipartimento di Ingegneria Meccanica per l'Energetica (DIME) e dal gennaio 1989 all’ottobre 1995 presso il Dipartimento di Energetica, Termofluidodinamica applicata e Condizionamenti ambientali (DETEC) della stessa Università, attualmente afferisce al Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell'Università degli Studi della Campania "Luigi Vanvitelli".
ATTIVITÀ DIDATTICA
ha tenuto numerosi corsi di Fisica tecnica, Trasmissione del calore e Misure termotecniche presso l'Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II e l'Università degli Studi della Campania "Luigi Vanvitelli", già Seconda Università degli Studi di Napoli;
correlatore di numerose tesi di laurea, oltre 200, teoriche, numeriche e sperimentali svolte presso gli insegnamenti della Fisica tecnica, con particolare riferimento al risparmio energetico e alla trasmissione del calore;
coautore di 5 testi didattici;
ATTIVITÀ DI GESTIONE
è stato responsabile del Centro di Calcolo della Facoltà di Ingegneria della Seconda Università degli Studi di Napoli;
presidente del corso di laurea in Ingegneria Meccanica dal Novembre 2000 al Dicembre 2004;
presidente del Consiglio di Corso di Studi Aggregati dell’area Industriale dal Gennaio 2005 all'Ottobre 2011;
coordinatore del Dottorato di Ricerca in Ingegneria Industriale e dell'Informazione dal Novembre 2015;
direttore della Scuola di Dottorato Politecnica e delle Scienze di Base dal Giugno 2016.

responsabile scientifico locale per il progetto “ELIOSLAB – Laboratorio di ricerca per le tecnologie solari ad alta temperatura;

membro del Comitato NanoUptake Project COST Action 15119 "Overcoming Barriers to Nanofluids Market Uptake"

Le attività di ricerca sono rivolte soprattutto nei settori dell’Energetica e della Trasmissione del Calore.
In particolare:
- conduzione: soluzioni analitiche e numeriche nell’impiego di sorgenti laser e raggio elettronico nei processi tecnologici;
- convezione naturale e mista per il controllo termico dei sistemi elettronici, nei processi tecnologici e nei sistemi solari;
- convezione naturale e mista in mezzi porosi;
- fluidi refrigeranti sostitutivi;
- irraggiamento e conduzione in film sottili multistrato;
- sistemi solari attivi: impianti a pompa di calore elioassistita;
- sistemi solari passivi: collettori non capacitivi, collettori solari ibridi fotovotaici-termici;
- sistemi solari a concentrazione ad alta temperatura;
- trasmissione del calore in nanofluidi;
- termofluidodinamica nelle schiume metalliche e ceramiche.
