When you walk into the Minneapolis School of Health and Innovation, you’ll feel it. There will be a hum in the air of purposeful activity. Everyone will be engaged in learning. You might see a small group of students huddled together, working on creating an animated cartoon, or an adult leading a string ensemble. A medical doctor might be demonstrating a virtual autopsy or a mixed-aged group of students might be studying Algebra with three adults leading the activity. Learning will be happening.
Each person will have his or her own space, equipped with a desk, a bookcase, a computer. There will be group spaces for learning and performance. Each student, with adult guidance, will plan their day’s activities, based on their interests and needs. Faculty will be personally responsible for guiding a small group of students. Pride will be our brand - pride in our self, pride in our friends and school mates, pride in our school, and pride in our community. We strive to bring out the best in one and all.
To put it all in a small capsule:
This school will utilize resources such as time, space, technology, community members, and professional partnerships in a manner that optimizes learning opportunities for students and faculty.
The Minneapolis School of Health and Innovation does not exist yet. It might some day.
