Tent Check-out Program
We have a "4-person" (feels more like a 2-person) tent at the Occupy Portland headquarters. It is open for check-outs by Occupy Portland-affiliated groups or individuals for up to 5 days at a time by advance reservation. (First-come first-serve, generally speaking. Use by the ISCG takes precedence over others, and use by OPDX-recognized groups takes precedence over all individual or non-affiliated group uses.)
It is easy to set up and strike down even by a solo camper. Users are responsible for keeping the tent in a reasonably good (usable) condition and return it on time. Any damage or loss of the tent requires a replacement.
To reserve the tent, contact Sarah Morrigan at least a week in advance, at sarah "at" occupy "dot" tk.
Community Sacred Space Altar and Seeds for a World Change
The "Seeds for a World Change" is a short quotation from traditional sacred texts from around the world for you to contemplate upon. This is posted twice a week (usually Sundays and Wednesdays) at the Sacred Space community altar we maintain at the Occupy Portland office, 1131 SE Oak St #5. The altar is regularly maintained by the ISCG. Everyone is welcome to visit this altar. The texts for the Seeds are also posted on our blog at www.opdxchaplains.co.cc.
Speakers Bureau
ISCG is pleased to send its members to area churches and other religious communities for panel discussions, lectures, workshops, etc. on the topics of social justice, economic justice, human rights, and other matters highlighted by the Occupy and allied movements. Likewise, we also provide speakers to various Occupy and allied groups on the topics of faiths and spirituality, and how they intersect with the Occupy movement.
