How to get a Library Card

Ontario Community Library card holders have full access to all of Ontario Community Library's resources including the option to set up an online Patron Account to manage their check-outs, renewals, history, holds and access Library2Go – Ebooks and Audios.

The Library issues cards to individuals, Families and/or organizations. All regular cards are issued for 3 years, unless other wise stated. Temporary Cards are issued for 6 months.

Cards are valid at all Libraries of Eastern Oregon/ Sage System Libraries.

Regular Card

Individuals/Families wishing to obtain a Library Card must provide the following items:

Adults - Head of Household (18 years of age or older)

    • A current photo ID with current physical address (driver’s license, passport, state or Military ID card)

    • An Alternate Contact – name, address, and phone number of an individual not living at your address.

    • A piece of mail with physical address–acceptable examples: Idaho Power Bill, City Water Bill, Cascade Gas Bill or Phone Bill.

    • A completed registration form

    • Cash or check for any fee* (if applicable).

Children (under 18 years of age)

    • Must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian with the above listed information

Temporary Card

Individuals/families who have recently moved to the area who have not changed their address on their ID may obtain a Temporary Library Card good for 6 months by providing the following:

Adult Head of Household (18 years of age or older)

Sage Library System Card holders

  • Individuals on the Sage Library System (Libraries of Eastern Oregon (LEO) Consortium) - may check out using their home library card and return the book through the inter-library loan system.

  • Nyssa and Vale – may check out using their home library card and return the book through the inter-library loan system.

  • Treasure Valley Community College - students may check out using your current activated TVCC Library Card and photo ID.

  • Eastern Oregon University Students - students may check out using your current activated TVCC Library Card/ and photo ID.

Lost/Damaged Card Replacement

If you have lost or damaged your library card please contact the library as soon as possible (541-889-6371). The Library is not responsible for items checked out on stolen/lost cards. To replace the card please bring current photo ID and replacement fee* to the library.
