How to choose the right V5

Step 1 =  Find answers on application

1.1  Application type?    (Barcode reading application or  grading/verification application )

1.2  Field of view?

1.3 Acceptable camera distances?

1.4 What is the smallest code size (MILS or X-dimension)?

Step 2 = Find the right sets of readability table according to application type (answer 1.1)

• For bar code reading applcation, tables can be found in V5 datasheet or V5 user manual

• For bar grading/verification, table can only be found in V5 user manual

Step 3 = In the right set of tables, find a match between "Field of view", "camera distance" and "code size"  (answers 1.2 to 1.4)

Step 4 = From the match found at step 3, read the table title to capture require camera resolution between 2.3 and 5 mpx, plus appropriate lens (Wide, standard, narrow or long range

Step 5 = look at part numbers table in datasheet and select the right camera according to step4
