Dr. Sanjay Pratihar (PI)

Dr. Pratihar is a Senior Scientist at the Inorganic Materials and Catalysis Division of CSIR Central Salt and Marine Chemical Research Institute (CSMCRI) since August 2019. He did his Ph. D. in Chemistry at Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. Before joining CSIR-CSMCRI, he worked at Tezpur University, Assam under DST-INSA Young Scientist and DST-Inspire Faculty. Four PhD students and 25 project students completed their thesis with him. He received the INSA-Young scientist award in 2017 and Gandhian Young Technological Innovation Award in 2018. Research group activity mainly focused  on the development of stimuli-responsive bi-functional transition metal catalysts for hydrogenation, dehydrogenation, and tandem (de)hydrogenation reaction, in particular focusing on a mechanistic understanding of the reaction. In collaboration, we are also developing cost-effective nanoscale materials/soil conditioners for sustained availability of micronutrients in the soil for plant assimilation.
