University of Liverpool Management School

The Economics Group is one of six Groups within the University of Liverpool Management School. The Group comprises 38 academic and research staff and 22 PhD students and has research strengths in Applied Economics, Macroeconomics, Micro Theory, and Econometrics.

My colleagues have published in world-leading journals, including the American Economic Review, Econometrica, the Journal of Political Economy, the Quarterly Journal of Economics, and the Review of Economic Studies, the Economic Journal, the International Economic Review, the Journal of Business & Economic Statistics, the Journal of Econometrics, the Journal of Economic Theory, the Journal of International Economics, the Journal of Labor Economics, the Journal of Monetary Economics, the Journal of the European Economic Association, the Journal of Money Credit & Banking, the International Economic Review, Quantitative Economics, and many more besides!

In the recent REF 2021 exercise (a UK-wide assessment of university research) the Management School ranked joint 17th (in terms of ‘Grade point average’) alongside Edinburgh. This represents a jump of 14 places from REF 2014 when the Management School was ranked 31st.
