Flying at the Track is Back!!

Information

 

Come “Fly at the Track” with the Olathe North High School Track and Field team on April 13th from 10am-12:45am .  Kids Kindergarten through 5th grade can come have fun running, jumping, and throwing with the Olathe North Track and Field athletes and receive instructional guidance from some of the best athletes in the KC area and even the entire state of Kansas!  In addition, all participating kids will receive a medal at the completion of the experience.  Flying at the Track is only open to the first 250 to register.

 

The main emphasis of Flying at the Track is to provide your child with a fun experience while introducing the sport of Track and Field.  The Olathe North athletes will provide age-appropriate instruction with an emphasis on having FUN!  Events include age appropriate low hurdles, the long jump, the high jump, throws (shot put using a softball and javelin using a pool noodle), and running out of the starting blocks.

 

Children will be divided into groups based on age/grade and guided to different stations around the Olathe North Track and Field Complex.  Parents are welcome to follow their child(ren) to each station.

9:30 – 10:00am Check near the bleachers of the Olathe North Track

10:00 - 10:20am Introduction and group Warmup

10:20 – 10:40am Station 1

10:40 - 11:00am Station 2

11:00 - 11:20am Station 3

11:20 – 11:40am Station 4

11:40 - 12:00pm Station 5

12:00 – 12:20pm Station 6

12:20 - 12:40pm Station 7

What to Bring:

 

Day of Check in

Please arrive between 9:30 and 9:45 so that we can get everyone checked in and no one misses any of the experience.  Tables will be set up for check in by last name.  Children will receive a personalized bib and grouped based on the child’s age/grade.

 

Parking

Please park in the parking lots on the North side of the school (these are the closest lots to the track).
