Qualifying Information

A limited number of golfers in each division will advance to the Optimist International Junior Golf Championship provided they shoot the minimum qualifying score.

If a golfer who lives outside of the District(outside of Ohio) qualifies, his/her participation will not eliminate a District resident from qualifying.

Regardless of qualifier participation, the 1st place winner of each age group will receive $70 off of the Championship registration fee. In cases where the first place winner is an out-of-district golfer, the discount would then be applied to the Out-of-District winner and to the next place in-District golfer.

The first place In-District winner of the Boys 16-18 Division and the Girls 15-18 division will have their registration to the Championship fee paid in full. The goal of Ohio Optimist is to also pay for most or all the registration fee for the in-district winner of all other age groups pending participation at the qualifier. This $730 value includes:

Tournament Entry fee
Golf-Tournament Rounds (practice rounds not included)
5 nights lodging
5 breakfasts and 4 dinners
Access to all Special Events

*Additional fees do apply for parents/family attending which includes their housing and meals as well. Due to the exclusive nature of the event, golfers are required to stay at Doral Resort and Spa.

Various Optimist Districts and Clubs may provide additional financial support for winners in other age groups to attend the Championship. The amount of financial support provided and the age divisions covered varies by District. Please check with the District Chair for details. There is no guarantee that financial support will be provided to golfers who travel outside of their home District.

Qualifiers for the Optimist International Junior Golf Championship to be held at the Trump National Doral (Miami) are denoted on the results based on the following criteria:

Ohio North (Par 70)

Boys 16-18 scoring 76 or less Top 2

Boys 14-15 scoring 81 or less Top 2

Boys 12-13 scoring 88 or less Top 2

Boys 10-11 scoring 94 or less Top 4

Girls 15-18 scoring 83 or less Top 2

Girls 13-14 scoring 91 or less Top 2

Girls 10-12 scoring 95 or less Top 2

We will notify Alternates if positions become available.
