On January 26, 2014 while at the Blue Spring State Park "Manatee Festival" near Orange City, Florida, A Cruising Down the River Captain Erika Ritter and Ocklawahaman Paul Nosca observed snook and tarpon along with many manatees, large channel catfish, tilapia, and longnose gar in the waters of (Volusia County) Blue Spring Run. This first magnitude artesian spring run empties into the St. Johns River some 145 river miles upstream (south) from the Atlantic Ocean mouth of the St. Johns near Jacksonville, Florida.
