Congratulations to the NUSTARS Rocketry Team!

The Rocketry Team competed at NASA's University Student Launch Initiative high-powered rocketry team in April 2013. There, the Wildcat rocket soared to a peak altitude of 5,286 feet, only six feet above the target altitude of one mile (5,280 feet), breaking the all-time record for the competition! This is a tremendous accomplishment for a first year team, and something that all Northwestern students should be proud of.

    Yuri's Night
Yuri's Night is an annual worldwide celebration of space flight, on the anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's first orbit (and the first person in space!). This year, NUSTARS has partnered with the Slavic Department at Northwestern University to screen the film Taming of the Fire, an epic from the Soviet Union about the history of its space program (English subtitles, runtime 160 minutes). We have also partnered with the official Yuri's Night celebration! Catered food from a local Russian restaurant will be provided before the movie begins at 7:30PM. There will be an intermission break after the first act.
