Professor N S Siddharthan retired as Professor and Head V K R V Rao Centre for Studies in Globalisation, Institute of Economic Growth (IEG), Delhi University on January 31, 2007 after spending 40 years at IEG and is currently Hon. Professor at the Madras School of Economics, Chennai and President, Forum for Global Knowledge Sharing. He was invited to occupy the Special Chair of the Province of Antwerp, University of Antwerp, for the academic year 2000 – 2001. He has also been an Academic Visitor (for 12 months) at the Queen Elizabeth House, University of Oxford.

He has conducted collaborative research with the following Institutions: Hitotsubashi University, Tokyo; Institute of Developing Economies, Tokyo; Erasmus University Rotterdam; United Nations University INTECH, Maastricht, The Netherlands; University of Toronto, Canada; Georgetown University, Washington DC, USA; University of Oxford; and University of Antwerp, Belgium.

His current research interests are: Technology and Globalisation, International Economics, Multinational Corporations, and Industrial Organization.
