I am an Associate Professor of Sociology, and Chair, at the Institute of Sociology, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and associate researcher at the Centre for Social Conflict and Cohesion Studies (COES). My areas of interest are political sociology, social movements and historical-comparative sociology, with a focus on Chile and Latin America.

I am a native from Montevideo, Uruguay, where I completed my undergraduate and MA studies in sociology at the Universidad de la República Oriental del Uruguay. Then I earned an MA and PhD in Sociology at the University of Notre Dame (USA).
