Who are we?
La Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica de Westwood is an honorary organization for outstanding students of the Spanish language.
The purposes of SHH are:
1. To honor students for their achievement in the study of Spanish.
2. To encourage students to continue their studies of the Spanish language and culture.
3. To provide students opportunities to use their abilities to serve the community and school.
Eligibility Requirements
***Students may apply for membership during the fall semester of Spanish III, IV (Advanced), or V AND must be a sophomore (grade 10) or higher. Students must have maintained an outstanding average in Spanish for the current fall semester and the previous spring and fall semesters, according to the following criteria***
CURRENTLY IN: STUDENT NEEDS AN AVERAGE OF:
Spanish III 95 or better
Spanish III Advanced 92 or better
Spanish III IB SL 92 or better
Spanish IV Advanced 92 or better
Spanish IV 92 or better
Spanish IV IB SL 88 or better
Spanish AP Language 88 or better
Spanish V IB HL 88 or better
Spanish AP Literature 88 or better
**Transfer students must have spent one full semester in the program before becoming eligible.**
**REMINDER FOR 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR**
Members must obtain 2 points per month in any category/categories (can be 2 CP, 1 CS and 1 M, etc.) until they reach their semester requirement. Members who do not earn 2 points in a month will be placed on probation and are required to make up those points the next month.
REMINDER:
Members are REQUIRED to attend every SHH meeting and maintain a minimum of 6 points per semester in order to avoid probation and be eligible to wear an honor cord at graduation.
Members need 2 Service, 2 Culture, 1 Fundraising, and 1 Misc. per semester to be considered a member in good standing.
