General research interests are the application of mathematical, statistical, random matrix, optimization theories, and signal processing to wireless communications and information theory.

Current research interests include:

o Cell-Free massive MIMO: fundamental limits, power control, pilot assignment, and channel estimation schemes

o Massive (large-scale) MIMO systems: pilot contamination, power efficiency, capacity bounds, channel estimation, and resource allocation

o Physical layer security for massive MIMO

o Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces

o Cooperative communications: two-way relay and full-duplex relaying channels

o Millimeter wave technologies in cellular systems
