Circulation patterns
Downstream practice pieces are strictly forbidden in all divisions.
DIVISIONS 1 & 3
Before racing, all crews are to proceed upstream to the start on the City side of the river (this is to the cox's right, i.e. bowside or starboard is closest to the City bank).Â
At the start area (upstream of Clifton Bridge) take instruction from the start marshals. Marshalling for the start will be upstream from the Farm.
During the race, all crews should take the centre line. The start line is near to Clifton Bridge and the finish is at the T.S.Orion. Race length is just under 6000m.
After racing, all crews are to proceed past the large yellow buoy before turning to come back to the clubs. Crews going to the NWSC and Sailing Club stages must also clear the yellow buoy area before slowing to put tops on.
DIVISION 2
Before racing, as for division 1 above. Please note that the stream can be quite strong, so keep well into the side on your way up to the start.
During the race, all crews should take the centre line. The start line is near to Clifton Bridge and the finish is approximately 100m upstream of Trent Bridge (opposite County Hall). Make sure to check the finish postion on your way to the start. Race length is just under 4000m.
After racing, all crews should wind down well before Trent Bridge and paddle past the clubs before turning at the far end of the City Ground to come back to the landing stages on Trentside.
