The Parish Council of North Sunderland is made up of 12 councillors and a Clerk.

At the Annual General Meeting of the Parish Council - members are appointed to various committees and organisations for the following year. For 2019/2020 they are as follows:

Minutes/Reports of the above representatives will be added as they become available.

Meetings are usually held on the 1st Monday of the month. If the 1st Monday is a Bank Holiday then the meeting is the following Monday. Minutes of the meetings are displayed in the Notice Boards around the village as follows:

In the Hub, Stone Close, Seahouses

In the Sheltered Housing Community Centre

Members of the public are welcome at the meetings and may speak on issues included in the agenda, with permission of the Chairman. Please inform the Clerk if you wish to speak on an agenda item. Members of the public are also invited to speak at the end of the meeting.

Cllr. Guy Renner-Thompson County Councillor for the Bamburgh Ward, attends the meetings whenever possible.

Northumbria Police - one of the team of officers which covers this area, attends, whenever possible to update the parish council on issues of crime, anti-social behaviour etc, which have occured in the previous month.

Agendas - a few copies of the agendas are available at the meeting for members of the public

Declaration of Interests - The Chairman will ask at the start of the meeting if there are any declarations of Interest.All councillors have a legal duty to record their declaration of interest in any item on the agenda, either prior to the meeting commencing, or before the item is discussed. The councillor/s are then asked to leave the meeting during the discussion and invited in when the discussion has concluded. The Clerk has the book in which all declarations are written.

Reports and Comments - The last item on the agenda is usually Reports and Comments, where councillors will report on issues raised by members of the community. If you have a concern or would like to raise something with the parish council then please speak to a parish councillor, beforet he next meeting.

FROM JULY 2015

As part of the policy to make Parish Councils more transparent the following will be added to this web site as they become available "By July 2015 and annually thereafter, smaller councils should publish:

1.details of every item of spending of £100 or more (inclusive of VAT) showing the date/purpose/amount/and VAT that cannot be recovered"

2. "end of year accounts as per annual return" - will be added to the Finances - Audited Accounts page

3. "the annual governance statement as per the annual return" - THIS IS AVAILABLE FROM THE PARISH CLERK AND A COPY CAN BE REQUESTED.

4. "the internal audit report as per the Annual Return" - will be added to the Finances - Audited Accounts page

5. "list of assets (land and buildings)" -
