I am Tracy Wood and live in Dalton-in-Furness, Cumbria with my four Norwegian forest cats, Sula, Sila and Skade (breeding queens) and and Cheeta (Stud)
We generally have one or two litters a year but
I've studied a national diploma in animal management and feline behaviour, have a keen interest in feline genetics and have been on the committee of the Norsk skogkatt and the breed advisory committee. I'm a member of the Viking Cat Club and the Norwegian Forest Cat Club
I came across this amazing breed in 2003 and carefully chose my first two Norwegian forest cats in 2004, the first Norsvana litter was born in 2005. I can not imagine my home without a forest cat. They are loving, confident, beautiful and addictive
Over the years I have made some exceptional friends in the breeding world and I take enormous pride in the lines I breed from today. A huge thank you to one of the best friends anyone could ask for Froydis Husoy (Sandoy cattery, Norway) for all her help, advice, support and trust to continue the lines she bred from. A sad but much felt thank you to the late Gunborg Pedersen (Haapet's cattery, Norway) for endless phone calls, visits, friendship, shared knowledge and trust to continue her work with the rare and precious breeding lines through Haapet's Cheeta of Norsvana, one of the closest cats to the original forest cats left in the UK. The result of these two friendships is the unique and precious breeding lines that Norsvana is fortunate enough to own and breed from today.
I am a small breeder, the health and happiness of my cats is paramount, I generally have just one litter a year and occasionally two. I enjoy every second of having kittens and put a great deal of love and time into them, they are reared as part of the family. I am proud to rear confident, happy cats that give great pleasure and affection to their new owners.
I enjoy occasional shows with my cats, both GCCF and FIFe, in the UK and Abroad, but I'm far from obsessed with showing, I find it a great way of learning, meeting like minded people and keeping up to date on how the breed is changing. However I prefer the look and type of the original forest cats and don't want to see it alter.
My breeding cats are all GSD4 free and all kittens are health checked, fully vaccinated and insured before leaving home around 13 weeks.
Welcome to my website and I hope you enjoy reading the following pages. Tracy
