ARE MOST NO KIDDING MEMBERS CHILD-FREE BY CHOICE?
Most of us are child-free by choice, and gave considerable thought to that decision. Some may not have chosen to be child-free, but want to meet others who share their child-free lifestyle. Others are still considering their options, and enjoy meeting new child-free friends in the mean time.
WHAT IS THE AGE RANGE OF MOST OF THE MEMBERS?
All adults are welcome, but the majority of our members are between 30 and 60. Membership is open to any adult that's never parented, regardless of gender, age, race, marital status, ethnicity, religious affiliation, political affiliation, or sexual orientation.
DOES YOUR CHAPTER HAVE ANY PAID STAFF, OR SEEK TO BE A FOR-PROFIT ENTITY?
The Minneapolis & St. Paul No Kidding Chapter is an all-volunteer and non-profit social club.
WHEN WAS THE MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL CHAPTER FOUNDED?
Our chapter was organized in 1999.
WHEN DO YOU USUALLY HAVE YOUR MONTHLY GATHERINGS?
With the exception of holiday weekends, our chapter gatherings are usually on the last Saturday of each month. We typically gather for dinner and sometimes an activity prior to dinner. Responsibility for each gathering is rotated among the members who volunteer to plan 1 event per year. People planning the gathering can choose something as simple as dinner at a restaurant, a potluck at their home, or something else.
IS THERE A MEMBERSHIP FEE?
There is currently no membership fee to belong to our chapter. Each individual is responsible for paying for their meals and entertainment for the events they attend.
IS YOUR NO KIDDING CHAPTER A SINGLES GROUP, AND IS IT ANTI-CHILDREN?
While we welcome singles, it is not a singles group and many of our members happen to be part of a couple.
While we do not have children, many of us have nieces or nephews, etc, that we adore!
IF MY SPOUSE HAS A CHILD FROM A PREVIOUS MARRIAGE, CAN HE/SHE ATTEND THE NO KIDDING EVENTS WITH ME?
Yes, as long as the original member has not had children, their guest who has had children may attend.
IF MY KIDS ARE OUT OF THE HOUSE, OR I AM DIVORCED AND MY SPOUSE HAS CUSTODY, CAN I JOIN YOUR CHAPTER?
Unfortunately the answer is no.
HOW DO I JOIN YOUR NO KIDDING CHAPTER?
We welcome new members and membership is free. Please contact our chapter group leader Katherine, at katherine.p.ellison@gmail.com. Katherine will work with you to get on our email list. Please include No Kidding or NK in the subject heading.
WILL MY EMAIL ADDRESS BE SHARED WITH OTHERS?
No Kidding respects the privacy of members as well as visitors to the website. No Kidding makes every effort to protect and use information responsibly and appropriately. Information about members is collected solely for the purpose of providing those interested with information about events and activities sponsored by the chapter. The information is only made available on an as-needed basis to those actively involved in the planning process. The information is not shared with any other organization or person for any other person. Typically the only emails you will receive are the monthly emails providing the details that that month's event. We do not sell or provide any of your information to anyone.
IF I R.S.V.P. TO A NO KIDDING EVENT, AND MY PLANS CHANGE, DO I NEED TO TELL ANYONE?
If you R.S.V.P. that you will attend, and your plans change, let the event coordinator know beforehand by e-mail or telephone. Emergencies may prevent you from doing this occasionally, but please make an effort out of courtesy to other members of the group and the hosting facility. It is important that we provide accurate information to the hosting facility, to prevent against using space they can use for other customers. Our relationship with facilities is important for future activities and the reputation of our organization.

How do I get a list of members' phone numbers and email addresses?
We are unable to provide personal information such as email addresses and phone numbers about our members. As stated in our privacy policy, we are committed to the protection of the privacy of our members. Information about members is collected solely for the purpose of providing those interested with information about events and activities sponsored by the chapter. The information is only made available on an as-needed basis to those actively involved in the planning process for events. The information is not shared with any other organization o person for any other purpose. If you meet someone at an event wit whom you would like to stay in touch, please ask that person how to best reach them.
