After a great weekend of fun, camaraderie and competition the NOFFCA has declared a new champion.
The rink from Oliver Paipoonge Fire Department, led by skip Dale Dubinsky defeated the Guy Langlais rink from Dryden in the final. The team is a father son affair with Mike Lamers and son Andrew on the front end, and Dale and son Rob at skip and third respectively.
Dubinsky came through the B side of the 15 team event to qualify for the playoff round then once again came through the B side to make the championship final. The team made few mistakes in the final winning after 6 ends. The team will now represent Northern Ontario at the Canadian Championships to be held in Truro, Nova Scotia to be held April 7-17.
Good luck boys! Enjoy and have fun.
