with your winter love
we crystallized our bodies
and froze, together.
kissing through the night
all the stars became roses
blooming in the sky.
at the start of spring
your love was origami
taking form with time.
if once a flower
could resemble your body
with your sweet perfume.
the moon has fallen
away from this cool, black sky
she is here, with me.
look beyond the noise,
behold the city moonlight:
orange in the sky!
on a midnight train,
back to the lower east side,
a poet recites.
a browned leaf floating
on the Bronx River's surface,
signaling the fall.
I told her that I
...loved her, in every other
language - but her own.
instead of numbers
we exchanged poetry;
and I - undressed - her words.
