Summer 2015

A study project on non-linear susceptibility alongside experimentally working on a optically parametric oscillator under the guidance of Prof. Ritwick Das at NISER.

For the theoretical part of this project, I studied Classical and Quantum descriptions of non-linear susceptibility, wave equation description of various non-linear phenomena like sum and difference frequency generation, second harmonic generation, phase(quasi) matching, parametric amplification, and parametric oscillators. 

In the experimental part, I was involved in setting up a four-mirror OPO cavity using 1064 nm as pump and PP-LiNbO_3 as non-linear media. I later attempted to feedback stabilized the cavity using the Toptica manual PID module.
