My primary research is in the area of seismic hazard and risk analysis. I have published a number of research papers in journals and conferences. I am also a member of number of professional institutions.
Earthquake hazard
Building vulnerability for earthquakes, hurricanes and other natural hazards as well as for man-made hazards like bomb blasts.
Loss assessment of buildings.
Epistemic and aleatory uncertainty in the hazard and loss estimations.
Probabilistic seismic demand analysis (PSDA) at Stanford University
Stochastic Finite Element Method (SFEM) at University of Arizona, Tucson.
Develop 2-D nonlinear finite element model at Jadavpur University.
In addition to researching in the area of seismic risk analysis, I have also researched on wind vulnerability of buildings due to tropical cyclones, and terrorism risk analysis.
