Post-doc

Dr. Domile Tautvydaite

I am a cognitive and clinical neuroscientist from the far north, where winters are cold and full of snow – Vilnius, Lithuania. I was always interested in how human brain handles such high cognitive faculties as memory, language and social behavior. Throughout my academic career I was investigating mechanisms underlying human brain functioning using the electroencephalography (EEG), and human behavior – with neuropsychological tools. My PhD thesis focused on cognitive processes of human memory in healthy subjects as well as in patients with memory dysfunctions, particularly brain damaged patients due to stroke, and patients with early Alzheimer’s disease. I am now starting a new academic adventure where I study the mechanisms underlying the direction of gaze, which conveys crucial information for our everyday social interactions. The findings of this project can shed light on the implication of top-down processes in gaze direction
