Α proof of the efficiency and pairwise stability of the network formations observed in the main body of the paper is available here.
The empirical part of the appendix consists of the following tables:
The STATA code that derives the results contained in the aforementioned tables and summary tables of the paper is available here.
Results for two out of the four datasets employed in total are presented in this Appendix. These correspond to the OECD Maritime Transport Costs Database matched with corresponding Comtrade exports and i) the distance matrix containing the hub list described in the main body of the paper; ii) an alternative distance matrix that contains all origin destination pairs and possible transit areas that can be identified as transhipment hubs.
The third and fourth datasets comprise matched Comtrade exports with the distance matrix containing the hub list described in the paper; and the distance matrix containing all origin destination pairs and possible transit areas that can be identified as transhipment hubs respectively. Thus flows are not restricted to have occurred only through maritime routes.
Should you wish to obtain access to results from the estimations invoking the latter two datasets please contact me.
