Bio
I grew up in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. I completed a BM in classical guitar performance and a BA in environmental sciences at Northwestern University in 2000 and an MS in wildlife biology at the University of Montana in 2002. I spent 2002-2007 in a term position with the Canada lynx research program at the USFS-Rocky Mountain Research Station, and during 2007-2012 I completed a PhD in Wildlife Biology at the University of Montana. In 2012 I became a research biologist with Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks. Aside from work I enjoy being a dad of 2, as well as fishing, hunting, hockey, floating, good food, good friends, and good music.
Research Activity
My work has been broadly focused on linking species distributions, behavior, and demography to conceptual and spatial treatments of habitat.
I am currently a research biologist with Montana Fish, Wildilfe and Parks where I've conducted recent projects regarding various aspects of large mammal ecology, population dynamics, disease ecology, and human-wildlife conflict.
