Implemented, tested and created tutorial instructions for using Mandala Robotic's 3D mapping kit
Built a GPS waypoint navigation software package for performing autonomous outdoor navigation on a Clearpath Husky using IMU, Lidar and GPS. This included waypoint collection, heading calibration, discrete and continuous waypoint following all with built-in obstacle avoidance and 2D mapping. All software was developed for and tested in simulation and outdoor.
Combined GPS waypoint navigation with mandala-mapping to perform autonomous outdoor 3D mapping with built in obstacle avoidance.
Learned valuable mechanical engineering and hardware integration skills by building all the necessary platforms myself.
