CCL Program Receives Approval Under Revised USCCB Standards
Cincinnati, Ohio - (February 18, 2013) - The Couple to Couple League's instructional program has been awarded full approval under the Standards for Diocesan Natural Family Planning Ministry by the USCCB's Natural Family Planning Program. CCL is the first NFP provider to be endorsed under the bishops' revised standards of 2010.
"The Board of Reviewers reported that the CCL program is a strong, well-developed program, both in hard copy and electronic online form," said Theresa Notare, PhD, assistant director of the NFP Program. "The CCL program elevates NFP education and materials, both for client and teacher, to a higher standard. CCL is to be congratulated!"
The Standards were first used in 1990 and most recently updated in 2010. They describe the basic program components for a strong NFP ministry and set expectations as to what knowledge and skills NFP teachers should have and what components should be part of an NFP teacher training program.
"We're honored to receive this recognition of our programs for both training students and NFP teachers," said Michael D. Manhart, PhD, executive director of CCL. "It reinforces our commitment, readiness and willingness to serve dioceses who wish to do more to encourage awareness and adoption of NFP."
With over 600 certified volunteer teaching couples, CCL is the largest provider of NFP services in the United States. It provides a main NFP course, as well as postpartum and premenopause classes, in a classroom setting, through live online classes, and through a home study program, all in both English and Spanish.
CCL has teachers in 49 states and currently has over 450 classes scheduled within the United States. To view currently scheduled classes, visithttp://register.ccli.org/
