About
History
The "New York Postdocs" idea was born at the Houston airport in spring 2009. Sitting in a restaurant Laura, Aime and Joerg were still thrilled by the National Postdoc Association meeting in Texas and discussed the postdoctoral needs and the lack of information transfer between the New York institutions and their postdoctoral communities.
This had to change.
As a result you are reading these lines.
The www.NewYorkPostdocs.com web site has been generated and moderated by the founder Joerg Schlatterer.
Mission
The mission of the NewYorkPostdocs.com project is to provide an online information platform for individuals who i) work as postdoctoral researchers , ii) are interested in working as postdoctoral researchers, or iii) move on from a postdoctoral position in the New York City area.
The reader will be informed about
· institutions that employ and/or support postdoctoral researchers,
· applicable city-wide activities and networking opportunities, and
· critical topics for trainee development
The web site serves also as data collection hub for relevant benchmark studies.
