Say hello to the Neptune Pine, an Android-powered smartwatch, Unlike a connected smartwatch that serves as more of an accessory to an accompanying smartphone, the Neptune Pine is a completely independent device running the full-fledged Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. The Pine features a 2.4-inch QVGA touchscreen, Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 8/16/32 GB storage, a 5 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, VGA front-facing camera with LED flash, NFC (8GB model), Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, WiFi, MicroSIM support for cellular capabilities, speaker, microphone, headphone jack, and an 810mAh rechargeable battery. It’s basically a tiny Android smartphone on your wrist. That means you can access all your favorite apps, like Google Now, Google Maps, messaging, video player, music player, and anything else from Google Play. The Pine does not come cheap, however, as it starts at $335 for the 8/16GB models with shipments starting in March 2014.
