This website and its associated accounts (Facebook and Pinterest pages) were created, and are maintained by me, C.A. Chicoine. I first created the Natural Bridge State Park Group on Facebook in 2009. Then, due to changes within Facebook, created the Natural Bridge State Park Facebook page in April of 2011—changing the name to New England's Natural Bridge in May of 2016 to differentiate this park from the other "Natural Bridge" parks that are located in Virginia, Kentucky, Montana, Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Wisconsin, and Utah.
This website was created in May of 2016 out of my love for this park and local history, and with the goal to help educate the visitor of New England's Natural Bridge's extraordinary history. The community as a whole must understand, appreciate, respect, and know its history. When you visit a historic site, such as this one, you learn from their stories and help keep its history alive.
There is a half-mile hiking trail nearby the Visitor's Center. I propose it be named Maquon's Trail—in honour of the Mahican Hero and war-captain, Maquon, of the Mahicansac Wolves, who occupied this pine grove during their winter hunting seasons in the early 1600's.
Stay marbleous!
~C.A. Chicoine
