When we meet

Newark Speakers meet usually fortnightly on the first and third Monday evenings during the Autumn and Spring. However there sometimes are exceptions to this depending on how the Bank holidays fall and other exceptional events. We usually take a break from July to end August.

Meetings start at 19:30 and usually finish about 21:30 or before with a break for a drink midway through the evening.

A chairman is appointed to manage each evening and members take in turns to do speeches, evaluate speeches, and chair the topics session. See the 'About Newark Speakers' page for a typical programme for an evening.
