SCHOOLS THAT HEAL 2020-2021
Dear Member Schools and Interested Programs, Happy New Year!
In the 2020-2021 School Year, the following Schools That Heal programs
will be available:
1. SCHOOLS THAT HEAL LEVEL 1 WORKSHOPS: Oct.,Dec.,Feb.,April, May
Five 1/2 day professional development sessions throughout the school
year focused on supporting the social and emotional development and
interactions of children ages 2-8. These sessions can be attended by
teachers, school leaders, mental health support staff and assistant
teachers. (Meets at Brick Church School)
2. DIRECTORS FORUM Oct., Jan., April., May
Four lunch time meetings throughout the school year to discuss issues
that impact on social and emotional well being of children, parents,
teachers and school leaders. (Meets at West Side Montessori School)
3. PARENT COMMUNICATION INSTITUTE Oct., March
Four meetings for teachers focusing on understanding parent
development, recognizing parent-child issues and communicating with
parents in relationship based practice.
(Meets at Upper West Side location)
4. NEW ADDITION Working with Children Within the Context of
Change, Trauma and Loss Nov, Feb., April
Three sessions for teachers, mental health support staff and school
leaders who want to better support children within the traumatic context of Covid 19.
