Neil Brigden
I am an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Mount Royal University and Adjunct Professor of Marketing at the University of Alberta. My research looks at relationships among sequences of choices and in particular, consumer inaction; when consumers get stuck in ruts and fail to take action to improve their welfare. I have published my work in top academic journals including the Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Psychology, and PLOS ONE. I earned a School of Business Teaching Award as an instructor of consumer behavior at the University of Alberta, and I have received an Alumni Teaching Scholars Faculty Learning Community Award at Miami University. I have taught Marketing Research, Digital Marketing, Marketing Analytics, Data Analytics, and Consumer Behavior at the undergraduate level, and guest lectured on Computer-Based Experiments at the doctoral level. Recently I was awarded a SSHRC Grant with Mehdi Mourali and Ruth Pogacar to study how consumers respond to algorithmic decisions.
In my spare time I enjoy traveling, hiking, playing soccer, and spending time with my family. See the Gallery for a few highlights.
