As knowledgeable instructors, teacher candidates will connect content preparation with pedagogy and provide instruction based on current knowledge and an understanding of the development of the learner.
This outcome is one of the most important in my opinion. It forces the instructor to know exactly what they're talking about and be prepared to teach the lesson in a planned way, not just improvise. It also allows them to cater their teaching to each individual student by understanding their development as learners. In this way, being a knowledgeable instructor can actually be seen as the keystone to each teacher having the ability to help each student.
During my field experience at Waynedale High School, I co-taught an entire day of lessons for Mr. Jonathan Muro. The attached lesson plan exemplifies how I am a knowledgeable instructor. This lesson plan connects to this specific learning outcome because it forces me to teach with all the knowledge I have. In order to run an effective band rehearsal, the conductor needs to utilize every piece of knowledge that they have gained. If not, points will not get across correctly and the rehearsal will not go as smoothly as it could.
